Karly Burton
Administrative Assistant
Karly was born in Longmeadow, Massachusetts and began dancing at the age of seven. She developed her love of art and community outreach at her studio under the Artistic Direction and leadership of Jennifer Dubilo and Rebecca Sutter. She furthered her training at Marymount Manhattan College, where she graduated with a BFA in Dance and a Minor in Political Science. She traveled to Guatemala with JUNTOS in June after her junior year in college, and was whole-heartedly assured of the significant impact that dance can have on the world at large. Karly is currently freelance dancing in New York City and joined the JUNTOS team in 2018 as Administrative Assistant. She is overjoyed by the opportunity to work with JUNTOS and continue to work towards combining her love for cultural inclusivity and dance.
Why I joined.
My first experience with JUNTOS was in June of 2017 on the Guatemala Abroad Trip. I was overwhelmed with the amount of support and love that we received as individuals following our passion rather than a “typical” working path. During my trip, I was consistently reminded of the way that Dance can break cultural boundaries by the openness that the art form requires from everyone involved. I feel excited and lucky to make this a part of my life’s work with the JUNTOS Collective.
