Azucena Santos Azurdia is a distinguished contemporary dancer, choreographer, educator and arts manager with a Bachelor’s degree in Contemporary Dance from the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica (graduating with a 9.44 GPA).
With over nine years of teaching experience, she currently serves as the Dance Coordinator for CEMUNART in Antigua Guatemala, where she has directed major productions such as The Nutcracker, The Grinch, and Neverland, and developed the municipal dance curriculum.
As the Director of the representative group “Nova Danza,” she led her company to multiple first and second-place victories at the “Stage” competition, securing their qualification for the 2026 World Cup in Riviera Maya.
Her international performance career includes solo appearances at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and various prestigious venues across France, Germany, Austria, and Cuba. Additionally, she has been a member of the renowned Coro Victoria since 2007, representing Guatemala in global vocal and symphonic performances.
Azucena has served as a Program Manager in Antigua for JUNTOSAbroad since 2024.
