JUNTOS is not only family, but a true inspiration to the next generation of artists who have the courage to use dance to connect with others and challenge differences. I am so excited to be a part of this new journey, to reconnect with friends and connect with even more dancers who have the need to create and share what they love. I am a true believer that dance can change and empower anyone and that as artists, our aim should be to share this amazing gift!
Julianna Sherelle Bulgarelli was raised in Pasadena, California and quickly fell in love with ballet and tap dance at just three years old. She began her professional training at The Colburn School’s “Professional Training Program” under the direction of Leslie Carothers-Aromaa and Glen Eddy, and was immersed in the choreography of Marius Petipa, Jiří Kylián, José Limón, and William Forsythe. In May, she graduated from The Ailey/Fordham BFA magna cum laude with Honors in Spanish Studies. While at The Ailey School, she worked with choreographers such as Germaul Barnes, Nicholas Villanueve, Matthew Rushing and Norbert De La Cruz and also studied Composition with Kazuko Hirayabashi. She also co-produced a choreography showcase which premiered her two original works, andamos… and out from under. Julianna is a dancer and choreographer whose artistic goal is to create and collaborate on works that reveal and expand on different questions, often regarding social, cultural or environmental issues. She has been an active member of JUNTOS Collective since 2012 and is thrilled to continue the journey this year as an Ambassador!
